Got a VWH... - It's about time....

My wife got it for me on an **** auction. She paid $1100 for it. It's in excellent condition, just normal wear (no dings or dents or chips).

When it came down to upping her bid she got me involved. She didn't want to overpay. At that point it really didn't matter to me, it was the thought that counted but we upped it $100 bucks and got it. She worked a part time job cleaning horse stalls for the past year to pay for it and $1100 was all she had.

Married 13 years. It is times like this that I absolutely realize why I said "I do".

I have wanted a VWH for years. Merry Christmas to me...

Dave

Man, congrats Dave!!! I still remember the day i got my 7VWH. I was stunned for a week just looking at it. Once I plugged it in it became my #1.

Got a VWH...

You're a lucky guy!! *I always thought after playing my UV's I would never look back to a six string again. *Then I bought my VWH. *I didn't even see one in the flesh or play one before I ordered it!!! *I just loved the look and have always wanted a Jem. *Now it's become my #1 guitar!!! *I love it, I want another. *The EVO pickups are the best sounding pickups I've heard through my rig and the thing plays so sweet..... *OK, enough drooling, my keyboard is getting wet. *Congrat's on your VWH man!!

Congrats on the VWH. That is a great story... hope you enjoy that guitar for a lifetime!

Along with what Jeremy said, I always chuckle when i hear things like "after playing my UV's I would never look back to a six string again". I don't see how one effects another. *Like having your first double espresso (without choking) and immediately declaring *"i can't drink iced tea anymore". Well.. why wouldn't you just enjoy both *

Got a VWH...

Hey Glen, up until I got a Jem, the necks on all my other 6 strings felt very small and delicate. *Then I felt the neck on my first UV and it just felt good. *The 7VWH has a meaty feeling neck and it feels bigger than most. *Before I buy any new guitar I play everything on the market I can find to be fair, but I just keep coming back to the Ibanez line. *Outside of my VWH and DY I just rescued, I still prefer the UV to almost every other guitar I've played. *
That said, I really don't like the thinner necks on the DBK and such, not that I don't like the guitar, I just prefer the thicker necks. *That's one of the reasons I haven't jumped up to find a DNA (although I think it's about the sweetest swirl I've ever seen) I just think the VWH is the best neck I've ever played on a 6 string.
By the way, I know the necks changed slightly from year to year, my VWH is a 2000 model.
Yippee to Ibanez!!!!
Jeremy

Got a VWH...

Got it today. The gentleman who sold it to me (****) totally understated the condition of this guitar. It is dead mint. One of the best playing necks I have ever felt. This guy must have waxed the guitar every week - LOL.

I swear you could hang this thing in a store and sell it new. What a deal. Merry Christmas to me.

I have seen comments on these threads about quality issues in these guitars. I see NONE of the flaws talked about, The nut is perfect, the inlays have "0" filler and the finish is flawless.

I am going to buy all of my guitars site unseen from now on. It looks like I do better that way.

Dave

Got a VWH...

Congrats on the 7VWH. I got mine exactly one year ago today. Since then it has been my #1 guitar. I have several nice guitars, Les Paul, Strat, Parker Fly, but they never get played anymore. Just recently got my DNA, which is even nicer, but it does sound different due to the basswood body, rosewood fretboard, and Breed pick-ups. I love the feel and sound of both!!! So enjoy your 7VWH, it is truly an awesome guitar.
