Hello , 7vwh question

Well, I'm getting my first JEM soon and it's gonna be a 7VWH

but I have deep concerns because of the new EDGE-PRO,
and guy's I know it has been disscused here lot of times - but still it's a little unclear to me and I must know whats going on with the new JEM's before I spend my money - it took AGES to save this amount.

my first question is about the EDGE PRO - should I try getting a new 2002 model? (does anybody knows if GUITAR CENTER have it in stock?).
is there any advanteges for the right of the new EDGE PRO?

my second Q is about the Necks on the 7vwh,
I saw on the site that newer JEM's have a 3 piece maple neck with no finish (with no lacquer on it). but on the other hand I saw at VAI.com
that the new jem 2003 is 1 piece maple -
how does the 3 piece affects the sound -
and what about the unfinished neck?

Thank you so much

Just from personal opinion get a used 2002 or earlier vwh. With the modification the new edge pro is the edges basic equal but it will require replacing the locking studs as discussed in about ten thousand new topics. That being said the vwh will still stay in tune as well or better than any other non ibanez locking trem equipped guitar

I haven't had any experience with the newer trems... I have an 01 and it stays in tune forever.

I have an '03 7vwh and it hasn't given me any problems with tuning at all...until lately. I was playing it and did some dive bombs and noticed it was really flat and out badly out of tune (I think flat). So I tuned it up and pushed down the bar and let it rise up and it went flat again. I then pulled up the bar, and it was back to almost perfect tunning again. So i stretch out the strings some more, tuned it up, still happened. So I replaced the strings. Stretched them out. Tuned up and still days later after the strings are all stretched out and ive been playin those strings for a few days and all, its still going out of tune. Its doesn't go out as bad as just a few days ago, but im getting worried. Does this mean I will have to replace the knife edges and stud?

Fine tune ONLY after a dive and return to neutral. [low neutral]

Fine tune when its in neutral, or directly after the dive? I tried retuning it when it was back to neutral.
