Herc Fede back in action (almost)

Looks like Herc is getting ready to get back into action:

http://hercfede.com/

Also, i don't know if anyone noticed, but he was auctioning off a custom swirled violin on e*ay a couple weeks ago (no, i don't have the pics).

Let's hope he'll be performing his guitar "transformations" for lots of people in the near future. I also hope the new site will have a gallery of pics of all the amazing guitars he's done in the past.
peace

Hmmmm, would be nice to see him swirling again, let's hope for the sake of his future customers that he improves his customer care (let's just say I had to wait along time - 18 months after being told it would be little more than 3 weeks - with almost all my emails getting ignored, and what little contact there was being sparse and often contradictory. I had to threaten court action in the end before I got anywhere). His work is great, but I wouldn't recommend him unless he's changed.

Herc's had my PBK for almost 3 years now. I spoke to him a couple times recently and he seems back up to speed.

Easy... I'm not sure why he was stalled, but the word was due to illness. That's something that can happen to most. I'd hold my disrespect untill I knew all the facts...

Unless he was on his deathbed, I wouldn't care.

Uh... Apologies if this was the case...

I think he's been so sick he's closed the shop a few times. I don't know what the story is with him but I can't imagine he's a healthy guy. Talented, but not healthy. It might go a long ways to helping repair his reputation if he would put up a paragraph or two on what's he's been through on his new site.

Unfortunately, for me it got to the stage where I didn't know what to believe anymore; it was one excuse after the other - you would get an email saying he was on the up and looking good, then hear nothing (despite emailing) for 2 months, then get a mail saying he's ill again and has done nothing. And that happened time and again. In the end he did get it done, but only after I hounded him every couple of days (and I think he had a good few months when he got a few done). There are lots of stories and stuff that happened but I don't want to go into it here and now. He is a great artist and I'm happy with the swirl, but I couldn't bring myself to recommend him to anyone; the whole process was horrible. So many times I thought I'd never see my guitar again.
And don't get me wrong, if someone is ill then they deserve the benefit of the doubt, but they should also be honest, and keep people informed, and I don't feel like I got that from him.

Re: Herc Fede back in action (almost)

too much speculation in this thread. until someone wants to fill me in on the details - and obviously i will respect anyone's privacy as requested - all talk of Herc doing custom work for anyone is inappropriate here.

Hoping this works out well for all parties... glen
