Herc Swirl Opinion needed

What do you guys think about this DNA swirl that some guy's offering? Kind of interesting. . . . thinking about it. . .

I am not a fan of Herc's swirls at all

, specially that one at the going price of $699

but that's just my opinion!!!

Yeah, the price does turn me off, especially if it's basswood. Don't know if it's negotiable or not. What would a 'regular' DNA body sell from him?

It's a fleabay item # 330036787879 I think it's too pricey, I may just try something with Patrick. He's a few miles down the road from me and likes to think a bit outside the box. I'll keep everyone posted.

I usually agree with you on everything mate but not on this, Herc will never be even " A pimple in Darren's ATD a$$" I like Nate Pearle's swirls a lot better than
whatever everyone else is churning out these days!!!

Of all the guys out there offering swirls at the moment, Herc is definitely the best IMO.

Theres a couple of professional guys out there selling swirls, and they just havent got the process down at ALL. Whether its the paints they use, or the additives, or the quantities, or whatever - they just havent figured out how to do it properly and get attractive results.

Herc is pretty expensive, but if I wanted to build a custom guitar based around a swirl finish, he would be my only choice at the moment.

All the quotes I've gotten from Herc has been reasonable. It might be better quality wood in the bodies.

How much are you willing to pay for no waiting time?

Ive seen several guys achive pretty good results, though not always consistent.

SCS also makes pretty good swirls.

Herc is by far the best i've seen on the net (i'm excluding ATD for his recent actions), if you look at the colours he uses they are so deep and rich. Other people do very good swirls but I think they just lack the depth of colour of Herc's. Plus he is genuinly a very nice bloke and i'm lucky enough to own a guitar totally customised for me by him, so i'm a bit biased lol.

Ummm having read what i've written I think it was maybe a little harsh to other swirlers out there. I think it depends the finish your after on your guitar, for deep rich colour certainly Herc, but i'm a really big fan of Rich Fays which I think are a bit less in your face and his more sedate looking swirls look awsome.
