Re: Horrible crime on LNG
How can you do that to such a beautiful collection guitar. And see what the seller has to say about the jack:
"Only the output jack tends to be a little tired once in a while. It can easily be replaced. This is a typical JEM problem of older models. I hesitated to change anything, because I aimed to keep it in “near” original condition."
Everything on this guitar is original exept for all the paint that is gone. I don't think it makes me want to buy the guitar.

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
The person who did that definitely killed the collector's value of the guitar, but if the price really doesn't go that much higher, it could be a steal for a refinishing job.

+1 as long as the price doesn't go up to much

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
Everybody's thinking that and Jem fans across the world are probably watching it (cos of all the exposure). I would be surprised if this does not fetch more than it's value...what is a paint job...200 US? Not much anyways.

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
Not a particularly clever thing to do to such a collectable guitar...
..that said I think it looks pretty cool in a beat up kind of way. Except for that
hideous

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
You're right...idiocy is more accurate, though. But it's very easily salvagable hence I think the seller will not even lose that much on it...go figure

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
"Here is the chance to get a fantastic JEM at a beginner-guitar price..."
WTF!?! it's about 1000$ 4 days before the end of the auction and he calls it a beginner price!?! and that deutch reseller Axel only deserves to be hanged by his testicles!

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
When I read the title I thought the story was going to be someone brought an LNG out in public, and made unsuspecting victims look at it.

Re: Horrible crime on LNG
hahaha I love it.. You guys got to realize one day, that not everyone thinks or is willing to spend big money on said "Collectable" guitar..
That guitar is collectable to us, to Ibanez, fans,
Steve Vai
fans, and thats about it.. I wouldnt see a vintage gear collector saying omg another green guitar destroyed.. They could care less. Exactly what this guy thought..
We make the price of these jems what they are today.. No one else is to blame. We dicate there prices. As long as people were willing to pay someones nutty price, then the next guy said well he got 2k I can get 2.5k etc..
Its collectable to a handful of people, to the rest of the world its a ugly 80s guitar that most wouldnt be seen dead with.
