how is the 7dbk?

there's a 7dbk around me selling for 600$. listed as quality 7.5/10. im not sure what that means but i'm hoping to look at it.

the owner replaced the bridge breed with an evo.
anything i should worry about?

i was original going to try to get a 550/570 or 1550/1570 for around 400~ and then replace the pick ups later which would cost me around 150~ for both bridge and neck. and that'll end up around 550 total, just not all at once.

should i just get this instead of a 550?

I would get the DBK, I have one and love it, I wouldn't be worried about the EVO in the bridge. Good price as well.

Absolutely amazing guitar - mine is now signed by Steve by the way
I think the change to EVO pickups was not the right choice though.
Breeds are very good (not so hot, but it is not the only thing), the guitar has very interesting character with them

Re: how is the 7dbk?

If you don't like the Evo in the bridge you can just stick a Breed back in there. They both sound good and what you prefer will depend on what you want to do with it. If you want my advice, follow the Nike slogan!

Re: how is the 7dbk?

[rant mode=on]7DBKs are mediocre and a disgrace for the name Jem. The woods are simply terrible. Always equipped with the dried out spotted fretboard, much too low density maple neck, so-so finish (if you're used to a 90HAM) and rough fretboard edges. There is a reason why it costs less than other Jems and it isn't just the MiK sticker...the huge price difference with other Korean RGs is totally unjustified. All 7DBKs should be rounded up and burned.[rant mode=off]

Then again it beats a lot Fender strats.

Re: how is the 7dbk?

Dinks cover up really well with marker pen.

I much prefer the breeds to evos. At 1 point I had a DBK, VSBL & a 10th, my DBK is the only 1 I haven't sold and the only guitar I've ever had that I have not even considered selling (2 les pauls, wolfgang, strats loads of others).
