I owned one for a while, but I sold it to another person off this site back sometime around 1997. I still have the UV7PWH and a UV7BK/GR, though.. Funny thing is that I put that mirrored pickguard on the BK/GR before they came out with the newer model... I think it really improved the look a lot.

Looks original. Note the paper/sticky thingie on the truss rod cover and I know there is still the paper on the back covers.

Here she is, in dead mint condition. I bought it from my local music store clerk who`s a good friend of mine. He bought it brand new when they came out and never, i mean never played it. When i got it it still had all the plastics on. She`s never leaving my side.

About 2004 or 2005 I walked into a Cash America pawn shop here in San Antonio, TX and came across a cherry mint GR ... the asking price was $399.99. I had 2 hundred on me and threw it as a downpayment right there and then. 2 weeks later I brought her home. All my friends loved the way it looked and told me never to get rid of it. Had I known there were only 340 or so made I wouldn't have sold it on here to someone for $1,500.00.

I think the guy may have lived in Washington or Oregon state... would be cool to see how he's kept it. He'd prolly be upset to know I found that MINT 77GR in a pawn shop for 4 hundred bucks. I have pics somewhere... I was about 19 at the time, so the extra $1,100.00 profit seemed like a good idea.

BEAT THAT for a "find".

I'd think a MINT GR would fetch almost twice what you sold it for nowadays, so do you still regret it?

To me, just to own a piece of history like that would be a nice honor but I can't afford to own case queens since I'd be very reluctant to play such a minty collectors guitar.

I don't even play much 7 string but I'd like to own a UV777bk, UV7GR and a UV77WH. Those are such tastey looking guitars IMHO.
