No dont do that. If your just ordering new pickups then just specify to them what color you want, either though your payment, or email them seperately and tell them you placed an order and would like the pickups a certain color. There isnt any need to order bobbin toppers when they can simply give you the real thing.

^^
IMO those "custom" pickups take more than 2 weeks to arrive and are very costly (see universaljems.com). Bobbins do a nice job too. ..my $.02 !

Well I just received my bobbin toppers from universaljems. They are ok, but they dont compare with the real thing. I mean, I can understand if he already had the pickup, then a bobbin topper would be a good idea. But if he doesnt hav the pickup, thenI'd suggest paying a little extra and waiting a little longer for the real thing.

A friend of mine ordered some green Blaze7s from DiMarzio and they took a month+ to arrive.

Be interesting to see how fast these guys deliver.

Custom colors isn't any extra cost, at least it wasn't the last tmie I ordered through Brain/Universaljems.com. It says on his site that you should specify the bridge bobbin first - bridge pink, neck blue.
