This might be real old news to most of you but I just saw something that disturbed me to the core. MY LOCAL GUITAR SHOP IS CARRYING CHIBANEZ JEMS AND SATCHES!!!!! The only saving grace (and I mean ONLY) is that they do not say Ibanez, they say Glen Burton. Who the f*** is Glen Burton and why dose he hate quality guitars? Out of sheer morbid curiosity I picked up a satch and it, I swear to god, all by it's self, popped an A string. Quality. These things are so heinously fake that they are the guitar equivalent of a fork on a chalk board. When I asked my guitar guy why they would legitimize these P.O.S. guitars he just shrugged his shoulders and said he doesn't pick their lines and he hates 'em to. When I asked what Ibanez thought about it he said the rep hadn't been in yet but it should be interesting. I may just go back to snap some shots tomorrow so you can all see pure evil in picture form.

There was a store around here, and they guy was making knock-off copies of Jems, and he wanted me to play one to see how it matched up to the real thing.

Anybody can have their name or logo put on and I doubt the quantities would even be that much Order 100 and distribute them, cost $8k, make 8k. I could make them Ibanez Rules Specials but I'd have to puke so often I'd look like Paris Hilton in a week.

I was in a GC a few months back & I saw the guitar tech working on an Ibanez from a far. I walked over to check it out & it was a badly modified RG550 or something much much "lesser!" Ibanez headstock with the word Jem obviously painted with a thin paint-brush, so bad. The navy blue paint had massive orange peel, the monkey grip was badly cut, & same with the lions claw. I probed him with questions to see how much he knew. First-off he thought it was the VSBL, an actual Jem, he thought that it was a good guitar, not a good floyd on it (cheap version), & he was saying it is a great guitar. He had no idea about the locking studs for the trem. I will never take my guitar there for a set-up. Not that this is related, but I thought I would add this.

Yeah, the Glen's are an imprint of Samick. Not actual Chibanez, but close. It's like the Duff Beer factory on the Simpsons, where vats of Duff, Duff Lite, and Duff dry were all being fed by the same pipe. Same factory, same guitars, different name.
