I dinged the neck on my UV :(

The guitar fell from a wallmount in my room and landed fine on the carpet floor but the neck apparantly landed on a screw that just happened to be there Now the neck on my UV777GR has a scar that's a few mm deep. I fixed it within the next hour but the neck will never be the same even though it's still playable. Anybody else had a tragic experience?

Ouch,,, I know the feeling,,, mine however has "chunk" out of the back and some battle scars on the neck. Just curious,,, do you play out with that green monster? Or are a more into collecting and maintaining near mint status?

The GR's my main guitar... I've gigged with it a few times and play it regularly at home. The body already has scratches, a ding, and a small chunk missing by the upper horn strap button... I mean the body's pretty beat up but the neck was perfect... until the accident

I always took neck dings a lot lighter than body dings for some reason. Including the ding on the edge of my ebony fretboard on my VWH.

There's a mystery ding on the back of the neck of one of my RGs, about the size of the nail of a pinkie toe. I don't mind it being there, it helps me find the fifth fret in the dark

I'm the complete other way. A body ding doesn't effect the feel or playability of a guitar. A neck ding most definately does. A smooth neck is an absolute priority for me... but you'd never guess that looking at the neck of my strat.
