i got my first jem!! but i need help

its an old 777dy and its amazing. best guitar ive ever played. i cant put it down. but i cant figure out what year it is. the serial number on the neck plate is 160267

thanks. ok well my digital camera is broken at the moment so ill do my best to describe it haha. its only got a few dings. the two kinda big ones were professionaly repared and are in places that dont show when you play. very convenient. its all stock. i bought it off an old friend and he threw in the ohsc, custom swirled plates that look awesome and i might put on, and the tone control upgrade kit.
what difference does the kit make in the sound?
and what part of the serial number tells you the year?

swirled plates id like to see that!
when you get the chance to take some pics do it!
dont really know from experience from what a tone upgarde does but i think it enhances it a bit better and each note gets a bit more tonem, im sure it helps in some way

im gonna put it on as soon as i go pick up some new strings tomorrow those things feel like they might as well be the originals haha
oh and no cracks behind the locking nut and one small finish crack in the neck pocket

the finish crack is always common on those older rgs, its not a big issue.
i hear the older joint also provides alot of tone and sustain.
im looking forward to maby picking up a floral sometime soon.

yeah its gets way more sustian than my old ibanez with an aanj neck. and it doesnt make it harder to get around the upper fretts. and dont think ill ever buy an aanj ibanez again

ok i got some pictures theyre all taken with my cell phone so theyre not the best quality.
oh and i have the stock trus rod plate i just thought the swirled one looked cooler

why cant i found them on the jem? they fit perfect and it doesnt damage the guitar. i can always switch it back
