I want a Jem!!!!!!!!!

Ive only played a few. It just seems like the perfect shred machine!
I have a Ernie Ball John Petrucci that I love and from what I remember the Jem plays as well as the EB!

So I guess Im just asking for you guys to brag about your Jems!!

Im looking to get the Jem 7 VWH. One of the older ones with the Ebony fretboard and the Lo Pro Trem.

I saw one at a local Sam Ash for $1500.00 used. Thats a bit steep for me. Id rather not shell out that much $ for it.

So whats the best price youve see one for?

And besides the ebony board and the lo pro are there any diffs between any of the 7 VWh's?

Thanks!
N

I think all the differences are covered here pretty well:

Personally, I like my ebony board. Looks better, feels better.
Haven't played the new trem system that much...I'm just used to the Edge & Lo-Pro, so I'm sorta stuck on them.

I think there are a few differences for those who have played Jems/Ibanez for years.... but not too much to worry about for someone new to the brand I would say. The 2005 have a slightly different neck profile/construction also.

If that guitar is in excellent shape.... US$1500 for a VWH in a major store seems a good price to me.

Question: do all Jem models have the last few frets scalloped? If not, which ones do/don't?

The Jem77BRMR does not have the scalloped 21-24 . It's no longer necessary with the AANJ anyway.

The 10th and the 90th aren't scalloped either. I think those are the only 3 models, but like Gtr-Man said - with the AANJ - it isn't necessary.

LoPro 7 yes, ebony no. The GR came with a maple fretboard and all the others are rosewood.
