I'm a new member here. I bought 2002JEM7VWH the other day.

Hi.

My name is SeanT. The other day, I was surfin' on the net and found this site. I'm a long time Ibanez fan. About a week ago, I went to Sam Ash and saw a used Jem7VWH and played it. I don't know what to tell you. It was the best, as far as I know, sounding Ibanez I've ever played in my life.

To make a long story short, a couple of days ago, I bought a brand new one from GC. I usually don't buy guitars from GC but they gave me a great deal. Literally, I've been playing it non stop since then. I just love it. The fret board is so nice and pickups are sounding great. Wow, I'm in heaven now.

Thanx

SeanT

Hey Sean, out of curiosity, how much did it cost? And how much was the used one selling for?

There's a Jem 7VWH at GC for $1400, they say it's new but it's clearly not, it's all dirty and the tone knob is very loose. $1400 seems a bit high to me, am i right in thinking that?

It may be new in the sense that it has never been sold, but probably has been hanging there for a long time, being played by a LOT of people.

I saw one at GC selling full price and it looked like it had been bathed in mud, had chips and everything.
Purchased mine offa evilbay for $1425 brand new with a free case, and the guy's a dealer.

I played one of those the other night!!

I was at the grand opening of the GC here in Orlando, where, coincidentally, I played a UV777... and bought it!!

I prefer virgin guitars, too, so while I was in the practice room playing the 7-string (when I showed them the cash, they were quick to clear a room so I could try it out!!) I scoured the guitar for defects. It had some small scratches on the back as if from rivets in someone's jeans or maybe a belt buckle. So I tried to deal the manager down, and they wouldn't budge off $1,550. I told them that I wouldn't take delivery of that one - I wanted a brand new one, sealed in the case with every scrap of plastic still attached or I wasn't going to buy the guitar. All of a sudden, they were cooperative. My new UV777 will be here on Wednesday so I can pick her up. I'm willing to wait a few days for that kind of a deal!

Glad to see the guitar got a good home. Enjoy her!!

I purchased my VWH for $1599 from Gtr Center earlier this week, and haven't put it down yet - it's worth every penny. It outplays my RG-570, my Les Paul standard, even my old LP Custom "fretless wonder". I'm running it through my Rivera 55-12. Great amp - only NOT really meant for a high gain tone - more for classic rock - Zep, Rush, Stevie Ray, etc... So I'm beefing up the "piss off the wife" factor by using my Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, and I've got to tell you that even though I am a self proclaimed "distortion ONLY from the amplifier" guy this setup sings! Congrats on your purchase!
