Question

Is there any point getting my Jem 10th pickups rechromed?

Is this possible, Will it devalue the guitar, Where can this be done and how much will it cost me?

Thanks for any responses and sorry if it is ridiculous.

i imagine that ordering new chrome top dimarzio's wouldn't devalue it that much - or any.

It would cost a small fortune if you could even find someone to do it. Buy some new chrome pickups for it and keep the originals in case you sell it.

I agree, we are definitely a great community, the only person I can say I don't like is Breadfan cause he only randomly posts weird songs randomly
I've learned a lot at jemsite so welcome!

I agree with the others too, just get some new chrome top Dimarzio's

Yeah, I agree - those JEM 10th are worthless when the chrome wears off the pickup bobbins, and changing the pickups reduces the value to zero, so if Cosmic doesn't want the guitar, I'll take it off your hands ..... for a very small fee of course .... ;-)

Dimarzio actually do Chrome bobbins now, which I think from memory are much more durable than the prcess they used when the JEM 10th was made, but me personally, I'd leave the guitar exactly the way it is and just enjoy playing the baby!

Cheers

David

hehe, yeah it is fantastic to play and the guitar is almost perfect apart from the chrome-wear, so maybe I should stop worrying because i'm never gonna sell it........Unless its was a trade for a DNA and i had some money, which is highly improbable since im starting uni this year.........One can dream........

DiMarzio will actually replace pickups that have been eroded on a JEM10th for a rather heavily discounted fee. Give em a call, then send em your pickups with your serial # and they'll send you brand new ones.
Sweet.
