The vine looks like crap, gold fine tuners on the trem, Gold whammy bar, gold locking nut allen screws, pickguard on the lower horn, etc, etc etc.

That's up to you, but the short answer is NO! Why would you want to buy a fake from someone who is trying to sell it as the real deal anyway? OK, maybe the seller is just ignorant and thinks it is real, but remember what old pappy used to say, "If something seems too good to be true, it usually is."

1st) Let him get stuck with it. If you buy it then, will you pass it off as a real Jem, when you decide you want to sell it?

2nd) How do you know he will even ship it to you after you send him your money. He's already trying to rip you off.

3rd) It's funny to see all of the people sign up to Jemsite, to make one post asking if a guitar is real or not.

There should be a permanent thread that says. "Is it real".

It's great having new faces.
What I meant by it's funny, is that there are so many fake Jems out there, that people are afraid to buy them. So they have to start asking for advice.

I think its ashamed that these guitars keep hitting the market and people are getting ripped off.

You make valid points though. Perhaps by coming here and getting good advice which saves him from making a bad purchase he will stick around for a while. I say we should welcome new members regardless of the reason for them coming here until they give us a reason to "unwelcome" them.

Agreed. maybe someone should make a thread that has the Tell Tale signes of fakes.
Or even a thread for people to ask, Real or Fake?
