Hope you've got an extra bushing laying around.
Talk about a great teaser thread--can't wait to see how you build this up, then show it.

Re: It's no longer a myth...
Alright, time for some real pictures of the beast. I wish I had a camera that could do this guitar some justice.
This guitar is in absolutely phenomenal condition. The only blemishes I can find is a nick in the headstock and the signature is slightly faded. The color is glowing in person and the hardware is nice too. Even has the palmrest! Number #124!!! The pickups appear faded in the pictures but it's not nearly as bad in person. My camera blows! I'm going to try and get some pictures of the family (when I can get them all together) with a better camera later.
While looking on my local Clist one morning in my stats class, I about died when I saw this LNG for a price I couldn't pass up. The previous owner had had it in his closet for the past 10-15 years he said and that it was time for it to go to a new home. Anyways, I never thought I would have an LNG at 18. The problem i'm having is actually playing it. When I play it, I feel like i'm putting miles on a low mileage Ferrari. A Dy or an Sk doesn't feel this way for obvious reasons. Does anyone know what the signature is signed with? There's no clear or vinyl and I know Steve only signed the first few with an indelible.

Congrats man! That's an awesome buy, so lucky.
re protection of the signature, one of the guys on here used some of that 3M clear car-bra vinyl to cover the signature and preserve it.

Me too Bryan, especially since I knew you were already sniffing around in my neck of the woods haha.
The problem I have with vinyl is that it will either pull the signature up upon removal and that it also only lasts about 8-10 years before it starts to yellow.

Re: It's no longer a myth...
Your a lucky guy!
Being 18, you'll find hard times when it comes to money in the future.
If you're still playing music on a regular basis, even just at home, don't let the need for money force you to sell it.
Always keep it in a safe place and take good care of her, no big belt buckles!
You'd always regret selling it.
