Japanese JEM7FP - Anyone own one?

Here in Japan they are still making the Floral Pattern Jem *but with PAF pickups and Jem single coil. Anyone own one and if so how does it sound and feel? Interested in one! Thanks

Japanese JEM7FP

afaik, all Floral Pattern JEMs have Dimarzio PAF Pro humbuckers and the "JEM" single coil. I've looked at the the Ibanez Japanese and Ishibashi Music sites - because at one point when I first started looking for one I was considering buying one new from Japan - and the specs would appear to be identical to mine... but mine is an "American" model (if Ibanez makes these distinctions with it's production guitars). As far as playability is concerned, mine's ten years old now, and well worn in, but it has one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played. Sound is very subjective, and depends on everything in the signal chain, but I really like the resonance of the basswood body, the fact the guitar is so "alive" acoustically. And the PAF Pros are excellent pickups, *quite warm but still responsive and articulate, and they handle moderate amounts of gain very, very well... the "in-between" positions result in a pretty radical reduction in output, which is very useful at stage volumes but a little strange when you first hear it at low volumes at home. The FP is a wonderful guitar, well worth the price, imho

Japanese JEM7FP

The FP is out of production. Japan has a large number of them at dealers. It is the same guitar as the US received. Rich even has a few '99 models in his stock and are priced very well considering the cost of buying one from a Japanes(sp) dealer.

IMO, the reason this madel has such a destinctive sound is due to the fabric laminate. It creates a warm, muffled tone that doesn't allow for brite highs. It has a heavey tone that is best used for solid rythm(sp) and pushed gain.

Excellent playing guitar, with tone for days.

Japanese JEM7FP

* I have had 3 *FP's in the past, each one sounded excellent!!! * Yet they were just a little diferent than each other. One of the reasons it sounds a bit diferent than many other Jems is the fact that the controls are back loaded instead of front loaded, Just like the Multi-colors. *

* FP's are just Awesome!!! My 3rd FP Had body mounted Evolution pickups put in it. *Talk about insaine tone!! Made the PAF PRO's sound like a thin buzz saw.

* IM hoping to get last call on a new FP and put Breeds in Her.

*Peace

Japanese JEM7FP

i have one jem77fp made in japan

it has evos but let me tell you that is the best guitar i have played
-the sound its great
-the looking is one of the best one
-the neck is perfect for my hand
-the lo pro never gets out of tune
-ONE DIFERENCE BETWEEN JAPANESE AND KOREAN GUITARS IS THE TIME OF THE SOUND FOR WXAMPLE THE JEM77FP CAN REACH UP TO 30 OR 40 SECONDS (i say this because i had the jem 555 and it only reach up to 15 to 20 seconds or less

although my guitar is more o less in good shape it plays excellent
