Jeannie Pickguards For Jem

Anyone here try Jeannie pickguards for their rear routed jem? If so, how did it fit? Were the pickup holes properly aligned with the guitar body?

Thanks

Re: Jeannie Pickguards For Jem

Jeannie Pickguards suck. There's a reason they were taken off Jemsite's sponsor list. I got one done from him. I told him what i wanted. He sent it. The cutouts were crooked as hell. Then i called to complain. He said he doesnt see every guard that goes out. I sent it back, he made a new one. I told him i wanted it routed for emg 707's. The holes were too big. Not only that, theres a post in here for a UV777BK with a pickguard that was made by him for emg 707's as well. Same problem. I told him they were to big, he said, "i used a template i made from a real pickup." I will post pics of my picguard. Other than that, it's O.K., but i would throw my money at EKG if i were you. Now i need to order those damn pup rings.

Here is my story. He sent me a pickguard for my UV. Holes didn't line up. Said he needed my original so I sent it down, and he never sent the silver guard back. At least I actually got a black one that fit in the end.

Geez, unlike you guys I've never had a problem with Roger @ Jeannies. Gotten 3 guards from him, and all have fit perfect and looked great.

Rear routed, what's wrong with a factory guard?

Re: Jeannie Pickguards For Jem

That's what I figured - hit and miss. For A front routed guitar, there are less issues to deals with in terms of alignment.
If the guitar is rear routed, then the pickup holes have to lign up perfectly with the guard. The pickguard I got didn't fit properly. I'll probably end up making my own and selling the Jeannie on **** to someone that can use it.

As for Rich's question - This is a custom guitar I made so I had no factory guard to start with. At first, I thought it was the custom that wasn't up to spec but when I compared the Jeannie pickguard to the factory pickguard on my Jem777, I noticed that the Jeannie wasn't an exact copy.

Yes i did have a mess up with your guard and sent you a Ibanez unrverse factory replacement.
Bought it from ibanez.

I see you did not mention this.

You are full of it.
I just stoped coming over to Jemsite.
and stoped giving free pickguards to be sponserd.
I have never had a problem witht he fit one the 707 pickups.
If i did i would remake the part for them.
I never recieved a call from you saying the holes were to big or i would have had you send me back the guard with a drawing of how you wanted them.
And i would have made you another guard.
