JEM 10th now???
How much would a JEM 10th sell for now in the US? Is it hard to find?
In Singapore, they have 1 in Hard Rock Cafe, hung on the wall. My friend asked the staff if the guitar is for sale, and he said it is for sale for Singaporean $ 10,000 !! wow, i cant believe the price is higher than 10 years ago.

Yeah, that's 7000 US dollars, way too high for a 10th. They aren't going for that much.

Re: JEM 10th now???
hey leev, i have seen the jem 10th at hard rock cafe too. i dont really know whether its worth 10k cause when i took a close look, some of the parts were really corroded since no one has taken of it and its just left hanging on the wall.

ah ok, i think it was in 2005 when my friend asked the staff. Too bad they didnt take good care of the guitar.
If it's in mint condition, will u buy it for Singapore $10 k though?

Re: JEM 10th now???
Not a chance. A dead mint 10th with the Anniversary case, certificate and everything would go for maybe $5500.

This is one of the few Jems I'd consider buying. A true work of art IMO

A lot of the "rare" JEMs have increased in value over the last few years, so it wouldn't be unexpected to see higher prices on swirls or anniversary models, or even swirled annivesary models like the "DNA" JEM from 2000.

Re: JEM 10th now???
U$S5000-6000 is probably the price for a mint one in the US, but U$S7000 may well be the price of a 10th in other places such us Great Britain or other parts of Europe. I dont know what are the prices in Singapur.
In Argentina a 7vwh has a street price of U$S3500, so 7000 for a mint one wouldn't be so unreasonable (actually that is the price of the 20th here)

Re: JEM 10th now???
Why would Vai give one of these up to hang on a Hard Rock Cafe gallery? I think it is a waste and should have been put in a fans hands.

"give one up?"
If you buy a JEM, you can do anything you want with it.
Steve Vai
isn't selling
Zachary guitars

For the same reason that Madonna gave her "like a virgin" dress; the beatles gave outifts, prince gave quite a few things including one of his guitars and Kiss gave tons of items, just to name a few.

Re: JEM 10th now???
10k SGD is a bit too much. A few months back JEM10 was listed in Singapore local website for 5.3k. Maybe 10k price is due to Steve’s signature on that guitar or staffs doesn’t actually know and ask random price.

Re: JEM 10th now???
Just because Hard Rock has a guitar doesn't mean it came from anywhere special. They're a very large corporation and BUY large quantities of lots of stuff to use as decoration.

I dont think anyone here has the balls to tell Vai everything he knows about guitars is wrong.
