JEM 20th

Anyone care to voice their opinion on the new jem? I haven't seen it in person yet, but I think with all the luthiers out there they could have come up with a more unique guitar. Ampeg made that clear guitar going on 40 years ago, yeah its got color in it, but its still virtually the same.

Hey mate, sorry if I came across as being rude. It wasn't my intention. I am not sure what else there is to say about the JEM 20th, though. There seems to be a perfect 50/50 split of people who like it and those of us who detest it.

I love mine, hence the name. I will say this about it. Pictures do not do it justice, it is an amazing guitar up close.

Sound? Love it. It is a lot different from my other Jems, and I like that.

Is it heavy? Only if you are a wussy with man boobs who plays with dolls . No, it's not heavy unless you are a pure weakling. My soup can weighs more.

Is it worth the money? NO!

I love it, but I'm a player/collector. If I were a player, there are many Jems that play as fine if not better for far less money. The 20th is the only AANJ Jem in my collection, and I must say I LOVE the neck. It feels, looks and sounds different from all my Jems, so I dig it.

Basically, owning more than 3 or 4 Jems is insane. Only 2 of my 10 Jems are different. The 20th has different pups and a different neck, and my 777VBK is set-up to E flat (by Rich), the rest I couldn't tell the difference between them if I was blindfolded. Aside from the PBK and Root Beer because of their grips.

If you are in the market and have the means, skip it unless you are like me and have fallen in love with it. You can get 2 Jems for the price of one basically.
