Jem 20th Success or Failure
Now that all is said and done what's the verdict? I'll base it off of looks, playability, overall design.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
How are you judging it?
If you mean did it sell well, Im guessing they all sold so it was a success.
There isnt much debate for that.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
I was just wondering since they are quite popular on the bay and selling lower every day. So they sold once but people are not cashing in when they try to flip them.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
Its still probably too soon to try to flip them. Im sure in 5 years they will be worth more.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
I didnt realize how bad they appear to be selling there. Only one of the last nine sold and it only went for $3650, and there are 6 more that no one is touching.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
The difference is that 90% of the ones on the bay are authroized dealers breaking the rules. When the DNA's were out it was buyers flipping them. Still there are about the same amount in total as there were when the DNA's were flipping, but I always said they're making 200 too many 20's.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
If I had the money to get one (which I don't, unfortunately, I'm one of the few that like the guitar) I would be hesitant to purchase via auction site. It's pretty easy to take somebody's photo and claim to have the instrument in hand. It doesn't surprise me that they aren't selling quickly, it's a lot of money to be throwing around like that.

That's not success or failure, that's called personal taste

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
It's a Jem so you already know how it plays, sounds. As far as the looks are concerned (and I think that's what most people are voting on), I hate it. I voted NAY.

It plays great and sounds great.
As far as looks, there are some things that are just better in person that will never been captured with a camera.

Re: Jem 20th Success or Failure
nay. way too heavy to be a guitar to be played and hardly appealing price.

I think they all originally sold to the dealers, private vendors, etc. (correct me if I'm wrong there, Rich) But there are a lot still available from those outlets so can you say they all sold out or not?? As far as Ibanez is concerned I'd it's an obvious success. Not so sure about being a sucess for the resalers
I think the original wave of intersted buyers has probably already just about passed for now, but give it a few years. Remember the DNA???
As far as personally liking it, I do, so a yay from me! I think it's cool and if it's too heavy for ya lift weights
