Jem 777 LNG value question

So, let's say I had a completely mint condition 777 LNG with the palm rest, but I didn't have a pink lined, numbered case for it (but instead had another Ibanez case). How badly would the over all value be effected?

I'm not one of those guys that cares about cases being original, but I am curious none the less.

Well, honestly, you could probably find another pink lined case. And alot of them don't have the numbered pyramids on them anyhow.

Personally, I'd rather have a mint Lng with a Palmrest with an unoriginal case, as opposed to a regular LNG in decent condition with no Palmrest and ohsc with pyramid. Hope that helps. I've also owned lng's before, just for thoughts sake.

Case? Cases are for shipping guitars, after I get the guitar, I never use a case.

I'm with Bryan, I would rather have a minty LNG with the rest than a matching case. Yeah, it be nice but would not be a deal killer. Where it would be a killer is that if the seller was actually separating the two for profit.

Cases greatly affect value with models like LNG's.

There are no LNG's in pink lined cases that do not have the pyramid. If there is it's married. I've seen ones where the pyramid has fallen off but it's usually still with the case and there's adhesive residue on the top. Only guitars distributed by HUSA have the pyramid case and this is the top package and highest value when the package is complete, all paperwork, etc. A pyramid plaque complete package in dead mint will bring $1000-$1500 more than any other package in the same condition.

Just for comparison sake, does anyone know the production numbers of DY's and SK's in 1987, compared to the 777 LG's that were made that year.

Also I've run across a few threads of seing some SKs and DYs having palm rests before being discontinued.

Yeah I meant they fell off. Alot of the people with lng's with ohsc have had this happen to them, at least people I've talked to through the years. Mine had it on the case but I can definetly see how it would come off it it got caught on something.

I would never say alot had the plaque fall off, it would be difficult to rip one off if you wanted to. And if they didn't keep it and have it with the case, it's probably more story than anything else.

So all the lng pink lined cases without pyramids are probably married cases huh? That's interesting...I though it was just something that either was or wasn't, like the drawings on the back by vai and such. That's good to know man I had no idea that all of them that are pink lined should have one!
