Jem 77FP for $800, good deal??
Well it seems like a good deal since that guitar otherwise costs $2800 new here in Sweden!!!
Ok, I know it`s a good deal if it`s in good condition but how`s the guitar???

You're hardly going to get an objective opinion here - it's like going to an Acura Lover's forum and asking if anybody likes the NSX *
it's a wonderful
playing guitar
. *$800 is a fair price - not a steal, but it also depends on the condition
.
You know it's got big foofy flowers on it and has pink pickups, right? *

But in Sweden it may be a steal since they cost $2800 new here and the new guitars in that price is the Jackson DK/DR which are low-end guitars! This used JEM is cheaper than the new RG5XX models here. Guitars are really expensive in Sweden you know. *I just wonder if the 77FP is a good JEM, I`m comparing it to other JEM's(which I cannot find an affordable price on), Ibanez RG5XX and
Jackson Dinky
's

If your options are an RG, Jackson Dinky or an FP, buy the FP. *it's a no brainer.
You won't find anyone on the JEMsite forum who'll disagree.

That`s what I think but I like the finish now, what if it starts to annoy me.....well I have to hope it doesn`t. If the guitar is still for sale next week when I may get the money, I may be buying it.

$800 is quite normal for this guitar in Sweden. This is the one in Helsingborg, right? It's a 1988 so you should examine the condition it's in before making a purchase. I've seen 6 used FPs for sale in Sweden since February last year. Price range is from $600 to $1500. Average being around $800. (Using $1 = 10SEK)
The list price is as you say close to $3000, but there are ways to get them cheaper. If you don't mind taking a road trip to Norway, have a look at
www.gitarimport.net
. You'll get it brand new there for $1800.

Thank you very much, seems like I shouldn`t be in such a hurry, I have the time to let this one pass (I hope) cause it can take a week or 2 for me to get the money.

sounds like a good price to me.
I got my 77FP(1989) for 650ukp, which is pretty good over here as they're less common.
and you're right, *everyone* looks at the guy with the flowery guitar! *s*
mind you, next time I play it'll be with my new baby... you may have heard of them... JEM777LNG...?
:-D
cheers,
