Jem 7DBK - is it real?

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could have a look and give me their opinion as to whether my Jem 7DBK is genuine or a replica.
I've had it for a year or so now, and as I bought it from an auction site and have been told that the 7DBK's were (apparently) limited editions, with the bobbled textured finish and screw inlays, I've always wondered if there's any way I can check to see if this is genuine or a really good looking sweet playing replica
.
It plays beautifully, and sounds great, all 5 pickup positions sound great and individually unique from one another.
The serial number on the headstock reads: F0417888 'Made in Japan.'
Not sure of this can be checked at all.

I've attached 3 urls below to the images of the guitar in question.
(Sorry for the long and messy myspace image links, I haven't got an imageshack account as of yet, hope these are ok anyway.)

I guess I'm just curious as to whether I grabbed a bargain or bought myself a pretty sweet replica.
Thanks in advance for any help.

It's the real deal... if you're still skeptical, check out the stamp on the neck's heel. I wouldn't say the 7DBK's are "limited" but DBK's that come with Edge Pro's (which you have) were only made in 03 - 04.
I personally think it's a bargain if you didn't spend more than a grand.

Sweet.
Music to my ears.
Got it in the end for around 750 although it needed some serious tlc, had no strings and the needed a good dust and fret board cleaning.
Maybe just an outfaced owner who was put off by the floating bridge concept?
Who knows.
Thanks alot for your quick response and help.

Re: Jem 7DBK - is it real?

From the few pics you have it looks genuine to me. The trem alone looks authentic. I purchased a few of the knock off's to tear apart and see what they are made of compared to my real ones. The pickguards never look right, and the Chinese fakes have horrible trems on them, unlike the one on yours. Aside from many other issues they have, these are the most visually apparent things you can see from a photo instantly.
The neck inlays suck on the fakes too. Look nothing like a real Jem.
Could go on for days about these things... but I won't bore you or anyone else.
