OK, so I was reading blurb on a DBK some guy is selling and the guy wrote "
Super Wizard neck, thinnest neck Ibanez make" and I thought to myself, "no, I thought the Wizard is still supposed to be thinner than a DBK neck, if not in 1st and 12th fret measurements, then at least in profile?"
So I went to the Ibanez UK pages to check it out and what do I see? The measurements state that the Super Wizard neck on a DBK is 17mm at 1st fret and 19mm at the 12th. That is indeed thinner than the wizard which is 20mm at the 12th fret.
Then I checked on the USA pages and the neck is different... Although the pages are newer (already giving the Jem the 'prestige' designation in readiness for 2003 branding changes), the neck is given as a
standard Jem neck with 19mm at 1st fret and 21mm at 12th.
Then I checked on the Japan pages and they specify the neck as being a Super Wizard but the dimension are given as the same as a Wizard (17mm at 1st fret and 20mm at 12th)!!
So, are the Super Wizard necks thinner than a Wizard?! And what necks are the DBK's going to be shipped with in 2003?!
Ibanez should ensure their information is at least the same for the 3 different regions. All the European sites have thinner neck measurements for a Super Wizard neck, the USA region states it's a different neck shape altogether (!) and the Japan site has different neck measurements than all the European ones!
