JEM 7PBK 1989 Value?

I am in Australia and have a Ibanez JEM 7PBK 1989. This guitar is in good condition and has just been set up. I have not played this much and I have had it since around 1991. Any indication of value would be helpful. Many thanks.

thats really hard to say.they are rare but it is something not everybody likes but if you want one you cant find them.so for the price?i think it is the same as a old 777dy or other jem.it depends on the condition too ofcourse.watch on the bay what they cost.in europe are those a little more expensive than usa and i dont know how it is down under

Bump... any idea of range, what have others gone for. I can't find many if any.

I bought mine back in 1995 for £595. Looking back it was a bargain. You just don't see them for sale very often. I search for Jems on the bay and elsewhere everyday and they seem to be one of the rarer models. I love mine and, in fact, it will be cremated in the casket with me when I go!! No joke, it's written in my will!!!!!!

I've had many offers on it so there are people out there who really want one. If they really want it they'll pay what you ask.

I'm in Albury NSW. I am not greedy just looking for a fair going rate for the guitar. It has been rarely played while I have owned it. I had it out the other day and it is still blindingly fast with excellent tone. Way too fast for me. I write songs and sing....I am not Steve Vai so the guitar would be much more suited to someone who is a little closer to Steve than I am. It was set up by Brendan at Real Guitars in Melbourne he checked everything from top to bottom and did what ever needed doing, came back twice the guitar.

I reckon you look on 3bay, similar aged jems go for about $1500 to $3000 depending on condition.

How about some pics and we can see what it might be worth.

But be carefull as Jemsite is moderated and you cant sell a guitar by asking for offers. You must state a price.

im sure the aus lads would agree.jems are very expensive in austrailia same here in the uk.i couldnt nail down a price for ya but id say round about $2000 pending on condition.

They are very expensive in Australia, but the problem with selling Jems in Australia, is that our population is so small, that the Ibanez Jem collector ratio is also small, and hence its hard to sell them at the price you want. As is my experience....

i think it is one of the most rare jems.i have seen once a list of how many jems are made and the pbk is one of the less,same as the swirls and the RB there are a few hunderd of them.the others are thousands of them.but expensive too.

I will get myself organised and put the guitar on ****. I should also offer it world wide which worries me. I'd prefer if anyone spend more than $1000 that they have a look at the guitar so that they know it is what they want. Any tips on selling guitars internationally, shipping/insurance?

I think your ok selling worldwide as long as you put the correct shipping prices in the listing, I would also state that anyone with a feedback score less than 10 can not bid on the item. good luck with it.

I haven't seen any real ideas on price - everybody is quite cagey. I guess all the Aussie guys on this site are wanting it, lol.

I will get it on Flea Bay this week with a $999 start and a heap of photos. I think I would be happy if someone gets a guitar that they really like. Gave it a quick wipe over last night had a quick play....it is mental fast, much quicker than me.
