JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

Hi guys this is prob a long shot but I was just wondering if any of you have any decent patch settings for running your JEM through the BOSS GT6. I'm gonna have a fiddle myself but laziest has caused me to come here first. oops. ha ha I'm looking for a nice clean, a basic crunch, an overdrive and a fat lead distortion.

Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Re: JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

dude, I'm using the gt6 with MY jem but I don't yet have the software to share the settings!....your best bet is to monkey with it for a while.
You'll come up with something good.

my only problem with the unit so far is that when playing live & after the equipment gets warm, i tend to experience a "lag" in the time it takes for my pick-attack to hit the amp.

I still haven't figured out what's causing it but I think it's the gt6

Re: JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm really struggling to get the crunch sound more than anything. My mates is usin an Epiphone Les Paul, a Zoom 3030 and a Laney amp. I'm using a crappy amp a Marshall MG250 but i running the JEM through it via the GT6 and can't get a nice warm (but not muddy) crunce sound). Back to the drawing board i guess.....................and bossgtcentral.

Thanks again.

1 advice.
Sell that mammoth amp and GT-6. Get a sexy tube amp and THEN hear the real sound of JEM7VWH. when one uses a effects processor, the "tone" goes for a hike..IMO.

Re: JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

I gotta agree with megadeth here. The best tone I get is guitar-amp-cab. It's so pure and colored only by the woods/pickups/gain settings/pick attack/palm muting/etc....
I've a VHT PITTBULL with multiple gain settings and such and the tone gives me goosebumps. I've hooked up a BOSS ME-50 to the rig and have to use effects sparingly as the color of the tone degrades with each effect that is enabled. Forget the amp models on the ME-50....once enabled....it all goes downhill....with a slight exception to the acoustic simulator which is somewhat useful.

If your amp is not that great on it's own...then gtcentral will help with the GT6. There are tons of satisfied users over there.

Re: JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

Im using the BOSSGS10 a usb to pc recording tool and effect processor which got the same modulation as of your GT6 which is an amazing modulation so to speak.

You need to spend more time with it and experiment a lot and thats what i did.

You can hear the GS10 with my Jem7dbk here www.soundclick.com/rabihsaad

And if you like the tone i can send you the patches (the same for the GT6)

Re: JEM 7VWH and BOSS GT6

i use a pod xt live and love it.

it doesn't color the sound to my ears, still sounds real to me, not processed.

check out some of my recordings at http://richmusic.dmusic.com
