JEM Build nearly finished

Got a couple of builds going at the moment, something over in the JS thread

Can you guess what it is yet?

The bay sellers don't do neon pyramids, so I went old school and bought some neon sticky back paper to got with the clear inlays they do sell

Started body shaping, ibanez paint is thick! But it came off a treat with a heat gun

Thats a clever way of doing the inlays. Good idea.

I'm sure he said it was an RG750 in the other thread.

Andy, it'll be good to see the finished project

It d*mn looks like a 550 or a 750!!!
Lower end models didn't come in a metallic paint job.

Re: JEM Build

Cut the claw yesterday & gave it a shot of primer. My router wouldn't plunge deep enough with the bit I had so I snapped up a new bosch router from a local DIY 'superstore', cut the body then took it back & got a refund. Am I a bad man?

just listening to the new satch album.. not sure

Re: JEM Build

Thanks Mart, I forgot to post , but loved your recent one, paint job reminded me of a Zion? still loving the 80's. The claw to be honest was a pain in the butt, followed all the projectguitar tutorials, which are fine -slow going with the router, then when you start shaping with a dremel it can go all chibanez... hopefully mines not to bad.

Re: JEM Build

im impressed with that claw Andy - very impressed.
from those pics it looks a great job... the dremel is a total mare in those routes because it tries to ride over the crest of each rout, as you likely know

Re: JEM Build

Alan, whats up how you doing? Tell me about short fingers, I was radiusing a neck on sandpaper, went to work the next day and was moaning about having no fingertips, mate said 'why don't you wear gloves?' doh! next time maybe. How are your swirls going? saw a post on UK builders forum the other day. I really think there are going to be something special when you get them on a body.. Jaden, cheers mate, when you posted the other day, I though **** why dont I send it to you to route, but I had already started. Following Brians excellent tutorials, was all good when I did the routing, but then you are left with wide ridges that are difficult to get looking like the body I got off you. The primer really smoothed things out & made it look better. Getting into the satch album, track 10 is awesome, feal FIABD.
