JEM cavity shielding?

Can anyone tell me if the cavities/cavity covers were originally shielded on the early JEM guitars?

Thanks for the reply. BOTH the cavities AND the covers? Were they done with shielding tape or sheilding paint?

... cavity and pickup routes are shielded using paint; covers (output jacks, volume / tone area) are usually aluminum shielded.
