JEM FP - with fp "signature collection" on truss cover

Has anyone heard of this particular Jem Floral??

I was kinda tripped out when I found it.

The truss rod cover is floral pattern and says Steve vai signature collection or something like that.
the pick guard is also signed in gold and the gold pen used is included with the guitar...
A freind that ownsa a pawn shop has it and wanted a grand for it..

Anyone have info as to amount produced, rarity, value, retail etc????
Rich... *Glen... Kirk... *anyone żżż

I remember seeing a truss rod cover like that on one on ebay a few months back. No special "Hoshino" Florals exhist that I know of, but there are some Japanese Retail store "Exclusive" editions, i.e. the one I had with all gold hardware.

Actually, the pawn shop had it on ebay and it was returned to him from the buyer due to ups damage (the case was dented from shipping and the buyer wanted a refund, i think the buyer realized it was nothing special after getting it and realized he paid up the cornhole for it)..

here is the old auction link.
it shows the pics...

It looks to me like as if someone "refurbed" parts of the guitar. *If you notice the neckplate has no oxidation on it, yet the screws holding the neck to the body are badly oxidized. *

There are kiosks in the mall that will do the engraving on plastic or whatever the truss rod cover is made of. *If that's a special over-seas model, it's pretty darn lame that they would only put the cheesy truss rod cover on it.

I wonder, does the serial number actually read "XXX" or is he just using an X as a variable? Who knows where he got that number from. *A lot of the FPs had serial numbers on both the headstock and the neckplate, but to my knowledge, none of them matched.

Is it common to try to avoid belt buckle rash by covering the back of the guitar with plastic?

It looks like it is in great condition, IMHO, it's worth about a grand. *But nothing special about it at all. *Good idea to have Vai sign the body under the pickguard though, but he needs to back off the screws on the pickguard a bit. *
