JEM Identification

Hi Y'all,
I am new here and am considering buying my first Jem.
I already have a bunch of other Ibanezes (along with other Fujigen guitars) and always wanted a JEM ever since it first came out!

I have now been offered one that I can't identify, and may even possibly be a fake (are there a lot of fakes around?)

the body seems to be alder, with just a clear finish,
the headstock is also finished clear. with a metal logo.
it obviously has the grip and the lion claw, 4 scallops and a floyd rose (not an edge)
the neck looks a 5 piece and it has a vine inlay.

I think the pguard is white, but am now starting to think that it may not even have one.
All I can remember about the serial# is that it started with a "C" and it's stamped as made in japan.

sorry, don't have any.. Only saw it once myself.
also, until I looked at it up close, I thought it was refinished.
I definetely think that it is a factory finish.

Agreed, ask if you can get some pictures sent, even by text the jemoligists will then be able to tell you from there, did it have an AANJ or a square neck joint?

Starts with a C.. If I remember all Jem's (besides 333's and 555's) are made in the Fujigen plant right? So it should start with F?

And if it was a real Jem why would someone replace it with an OFR? ew :P

how much do they want for it ? if its a lot of cash, you really have to do your homework, if they want next to nothing for it, then its fake...
