I just bought a Bill Lawrence (Wilde
Pickups) L-500XL/R combo to go into my 2003 Jem7VWH. Much to my dismay, they're too big for the cavities that have been routed for the Evos. I'm planning on taking them to a professional to have them deepened.
Has anyone done this to their
Jem??
If so, did you notice a change in tone? Did you run into any complications? Were you happy as a lark and unable to tell a difference?
I'm not 100% sold that I'm going to do it, but if the luthier thinks that it will be no problem at all, then I likely will. He's very good at what he does and the best in my area without a doubt.
