Jem Pickup Swapping

I didn't put this one in the "Pickups and Wiring" thread because I only wanted to know about this as far as Jems are concerned, so here it is...

I'm interested to know who of you have swapped out the stock pups...

1. What kind of pickups and which Jem?
2. How does it sound in comparison?
3. What did you expect and did you get what you expected?

Hey, it's late, I'm at work, got plenty of time to think up stuff, and things.

I've only done it the only way round:

I bought my BFP with a SD Full-shred at the bridge. The problem with it on the JEM was basicly that it's Black (and non-original...). I swapped the Paf pro back in and found out why he took it off in the first place: My Jem BFP in it's original state is one of my thinnest sounding Ibanezzes, but the looks are smashing

I understand why everyone sees the Evo's as a huge upgrade, or are the FP's still equipped with the PAF pro's?

I have to agree on the BFP. To me, it was very thin sounding as well with the stock PAF Pros. I loved the tone from the DBK I use to own so I replaced the PAF's in the BFP with Breed HB's and HS-2 single.
Great improvement IMHO - nice rich, thick sound. Not as nice as DBK but pretty close.

That said, the PAF Pro's on the 77FP sound great. No where near as thin as on the BFP. Maybe it's the rosewood vs maple fretboard.

I've got two FPs, an 88 and a 91, and the 91 sounds much thinner than the 88. It's also a much nice guitar to play, though they are obviously nearly identical. I was thinking of swapping out the PUs in the 91, but I haven't decided with what yet. I was also thinking of going with green bobbins, you know, for that added green tone
I'll let you know how it turns out when I do it.

My BFP:

Evo - bridge
Virtual 2 bridge model - Middle
original PAF - Neck

the guitar rocks and is extraordinarily versatile.

My BFP is a 91 and I also ripped out the Paf in the bridge because it was stuffed. Don't know why. I put in a Tone Zone in the same blue.

Much Much better!!!!
