JEM-RG history

I found this...

...which indicates that the RG was released in '86, followed by the JEM in '87.

The history info here seems to indicate concurrent development...was the RG part of the JEM development, or was the JEM a branch from the RG concept?

the older RG and ProLines (pre '87) had some major improvements available in '87 with the JEM & RG550. Recessed tremolo routing among the biggest. The JEM/RG550 was the evolution and final piece to the bigger picture... glen

You can look at the `85 - `86 pre RGs and see the evolution to today's RG. *The H-S-H setup was there, the Chrome Edge was there, but the body and headstock lacked something. *Next the headstock was changed to the one we all love today. *Next to follow, the body, streamlined, and heavy metal sharp. *It wasn't Straty, it was a nice blend of Baretta, Gunslinger, and Warlock.

I saw in that history page that Paul Gilbert has been with ibanez at least since 91... Isn't time for a PGM10th?
