Jem Vs RG vs New Jem

ok, I heard from someone a couple things that im not sure aout so mybe you guys could clarify? He said that the new jems liek the white one, play much nicer than the old jems? is that true or bull****?

He also said, that Jems play a hell of alot nice than RGs and they are easier to play and feel better. This true?

it looks & feels as a ESP with the straight piece neck and volute

The Jem plays better than an RG, that's for sure. The newer versus older thing probably isn't true.

Well….. if same person playing chinabez and JEM, hell…no need to ask, JEM is whole lot better. IMO, JEMs plays better than RG, at least for me because of frets.

Well my RG550 plays better than my Jem because I don't own a JEM. I will let you know when I buy one hehehe its gona be a while....

i dont know about whether a Jem plays better then high end RGs
they pretty much as the same quality other the killer looks of the jem7vwh

Its all personal preferance, they are different from each other, but thats not always better or worse.

RG = wizard neck
old RG = v. thin wizard neck
some RG's = wizard 2 neck
some jem's = Jem Neck
other jem's = wizard neck

RG's = jumbo frets
jems = 6105 frets

pups = different different different

fretboard wood = different different different

I prefer the jem neck profile over the wizard, but I don't mind the wizard 2. I also prefer 6105's over jumbo's... So you know... apples and oranges.

It is strictly a matter of personal preference. I am used to the old wizard necks and therefore find them more comfortable than the Jem ones....

That's a completely off-topic, irrelevant point. I struggle to see why it's in the thread, along with the other, similar comments.

Some guitars do play 'better' than others. Whether the Chibanez guy sounds amazing or not has nothing to so with the quality of the guitar.

The best racer in the world could probably outrace me on a difficult track in an old Fiesta even if I was driving a Ferrari. However, the Ferrari is still demostrably better than the Fiesta.

Vai could play better on a Squier Strat than I could on a JEM, but the JEM is still a better guitar.

The OP is asking which guitars 'play' better - i.e. feel slicker, set up more easily, sound superior, are better quality, etc etc.

"NO GUITAR PLAYS BETTER" is a ridiculous statement. A Jem WILL play better than a Squier, all things being the same.
