??????

You've been here since 2002 and you've never read about this topic before?

Nevermind, just take it to a local luthier if you are unsure and they'll do it for you, but you'll have to buy the bridge first

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

dont buy a 555 and if you do buy a newer one with a Edge Pro II so you really wont have to worry about buying a Edge Tremolo. EPII's arent thta bad

OR, get a used 550 and upgrade the pickups. It's way cheaper than a 555 with an Edge mod.

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

Thanks for the answers,

What i aim is simple. Reaching my own EVO. I'll buy a second hand Jem555 and replace bridge first with black edge or lo pro edge bridge and after a while replace the neck with a custom one with ebony fingerboarded, fully vined and dunlop #6105 frets. I love with 7vwh but i ont like gold colour on it. So that an upgraded 555 seems logical to me. By the way this evo replica will still be under 1000 dolars...

I know it would cost more but if you bought a 7VWH and replaced the hardware. it would feel SO MUCH better and look better In your opinion

Are you aiming for something close to Vai's EVO or your own? Vai's EVO has a rosewood fingerboard. Or what about going for FLO's ex look? IT used to have a 555 neck.

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

Just buy a 7vwh. By the time you're done with the 555 all that will be left of it is the body.

I,d like to but unfortunately there is an abbys between costs of jem7v and jem555. So that i plan to pick a 555, so im not a fan of 555

It will just be an approach for EVO. Will has a black lo-pro edge bridge and hardware. And after a while attractive neck will be replaced...What i want to have about neck is a jem7v neck but black hardware and hey why not, stratty or js-ish straight neck not angled. I always liked this on JSs. Hmmm...
