Wow everytime you send me another picture of that guitar Rodney I have flashbacks!
I would say stay a case queen, just for its sheer beauty, but I know everytime I saw her all shiny and pretty I would just have to pick her up and play!
Tough decsion!I would say played gently..... let the Pirate walk the plank for you each day!

You ll have to be crazy to play that guitar. If you ever feel the urge of playing it, just get your self a 777DY. It plays the same, it even looks better, AND its not collectable so you wont riun your investment.

If I were you, I wouldnt even have the strings changed.

Play her! What's the use of a guitar that can't be played, I know it's a piece of history but guitars are intentionally built and designed to be played; this kind of thing annoys me to be honest.

This completely goes against my general approach to guitars, but for this particular one I would say DON'T PLAY IT! They are rare, and it will be devalued the more you play it. It's a collectors guitar as it is and it should stay that way.

I would buy another JEM to play and keep that one as a case queen.

+1
Unless you intend on selling it on to make a profit at some point in the future. In which case, dont play it.

But if its a keeper like it should be, I say play it as much and as often as you can. Thats what its meant for. It ruins the whole idea of the guitar otherwise.

Why play it??, its the worst playing JEM and it doesnt even have AANJ so whats the point of playing it. Its a collector so it should stay in perfect collector condition, not player condition.

I want it! I'll play the hell out of it everyday. My wife has a 69 Mach1 Mustang with 47,000 original miles on it, and people say we shouldn't drive it. Yea right! It was meant to drive and thats what she does. not everyday but quite a bit. I'll play that thing rolling down the road in the Mach1 that would really piss people off......lol....I want it!!

After being kept mint for 20yrs, it'd be a bit mad to start playing it now...
