JEM7DBK nut/bridge radius differs from neck radius ?!?!

2001 JEM7DBK, as new, all seems original parts

The radius of the neck seems to be slightly tighter than the radius of the nut & bridge.

This means the action is lower on the centre d & g strings, and higher on the E strings.

It is consistant over the whole neck.

The action is very low and the guitar is working fine except for this apparent radius difference. The difference at the nut is the E strings are approx 0.5mm higher off the frests than the D & G strings.

I urgently request advise if this is normal or not? It does seem very strange.

Thanks

I go through about 1000 saddle shims a year, and considerring I've had to make them for the last 3 months I'm about to pull all my hair out!

Normal...that's why Rich uses so many shims...he works on a lot of guitars and they need to be shimmed

Do I have to get down on my knees like Dave does to Steve when he takes a hold of Steve's lower neck and goes up and down it?

This is normal with lots of brands. The nuts & bridges only come in certain radii, and the variation in necks is much greater. My one Carvin neck is the same way, which was one reason I chose a real nut with locking tuners on my latest one.
