JEM7v or JEM77v

Has anyone played both JEM's? I was wondering how you liked the sound between the two? The alder body with the Evo's or the basswood with the Breed's? I would like to get one as my next guitar, but the Guitar Centers around where I live don't even carry the Prestige models let alone JEM's, so I am going to have to order it. I have an alder Jackson dinky with an Evo in it and a basswood JEM 555 with Evo's, but those guitars are so different that I really can't compare them to what a JEM7v or 77v would sound like. Thanks for any help you can give.

I played both and decided I prefered the jem7v. The alder body seems to give it a a little more emphasis on the treble and midrange frequencies, and it sounds great through my peavey triple x. Also, as I have two other basswood guitars, I couldn't justify a third.

It's actually for sale if you're interested in one. I've been in kind of a guitar lowpoint, I have guitars that haven't been touched for 6 months at a time lol.

I'd consider also the JEM77v with EVOs (pickup swap)...the Breeds can sometimes be just too much under high gain in my opinion, esp. with the Basswood.

I have a 77VBK. Like it, but the Pick Ups might need a little more to me. I have an Ernie Ball Music Man with EMG's and through my Bogner XTC it has more umph! I knwo their active, but you can nail AH's really easy and the Breeds are not hot enough at least with that amp. Might be better with a different amp.

Do they make black EVO's so I can swap it.
