JEM7v quality better than JEM555?

Is the build quality of the JEM7 or 77's better than the JEM555? I have been playing a Jackson Dinky, and I got a JEM555 for a good price. I love the shape of the neck, playability, and overall looks of the guitar, but my Jackson just seems to be more "solid" of a guitar. The trem is smoother on the jackson, and the frets are smoother on the edges than the 555. Also, it seems like the neck isn't as stiff on the JEM555 as it is on the Jackson. That being said, I still like playing the 555 more because I like the feel of the neck better. So would a JEM7vwh have the best of both for me, feel and quality? There aren't any at the Guitar Centers around here for me to try. The only Ibanez's they carry at both Guitar Centers within driving distance are the Indonesian built ones. Thanks for any help.

Very much so. THe quality of the 7V is leaps and bounds beyond the 555. A lot of people think the 555 should never have been made its such a big gap.

I have a JEM7v , white, and its the best guitar I've ever played. Before I bought the JEM7, I tried the Jackson RR1 Randy Rhoads model, as well as the JEM555, and the JEM7's neck is better than both.

ive owned both of these guitars.i played a 555 for 11 years, not a bad guitar as long as it hasnt the lo-trs trem.but the 7vwh is light years ahead in every way shape and form, stunning guitars but the neck crippled my wrist so had to sell.advice to anyone thinking about buying a 555 put the extra few ££££ and buy a 7vw

All I have to say is that there is more to the difference in price than just name and location of the build alone. I'm not saying that the 555 is crap and that the 7v is justifibly priced as high as it is. But they aren't making one expensive and one cheap for no reason.

The JEM neck "crippled your wrist?" Do you just mean you found it uncomfortable or painful to play? Please elaborate.

Good advice by the way.

Peace

There's no need to be unkind, he's new to the site and only has 4 posts. You could instead give an answer and inform that there's a search function where he can find a huge number of threads about this topic, but not waste time writing teasing things. New member should be helped also in the way to learn using the forum!

On the other hand, the quality isn't comparable, the neck is better feeling, the frets are smoother, the trem stays in tune better and the overall sound is from another world, still i prefer the 77 better

depends on how well you maintain your guitars, i own a 555 and it never goes out of tune and it sounds ****in awesome at half the price, i just cant justify owning a 7v, stupidly expensive, id be too scared to gig it or breaking it

Ah, yes, I've been to Yorkshire and the folks there have a particular way they like to mangle the language. Thanks.

Peace
