The new J Craft case looks kinda nice. No comment on its reliability though, sorry.

I'm guessing it wasn't the combo; you could guess that in 15 minutes tops.

True, I forgot mine once, (before it was all ones) and it only took me about an hour to have it open. I think the locks are designed to keep people from looking, but not neccessarily all the way out.

My combo was 666... the last time I locked it, I had to jiggle the hell out of it open it. So I never locked it again. Well, I came back home from 2 weeks in Mississippi to find it had been locked. Jiggling it didn't do a bloody thing, so out with the pliers...

Actually, you can set your OWN combo...I recently got a 1988 FP w/orignal UV case. It has the directions on how to set the combo (and change it)

Make you wonder if the Team J craft are the only ppl working at Ibanez. I mean they are everywhere. My new prestige 1570 is Team J. Hell all of the prestiges, jems and the JS are made by this team. These guys are putting some serious over time.

My 2000 Jem7dbk and my cousin's 02 7v didnt come with cases. I heard that jem's started to come again shipped with cases in 04 and up.

Certainly didn't give you a case in '04. Least not in Japan. My 7VWH came in a bloody cardboard box. Cheers guys. However my most recent purchase, RGT 220 did indeed come with a Team J craft case. Its a nice case and a perfect fit. And no combo lock, you use a padlock. The Jem and the RG have swapped cases now.

i got a case with both my jem and my rg prestige both the same cases and i got them both in 2004

Mine too came in a box.....and I ordered mine from Ibanez in 2000.

You know...I never saw the purpose for the damn combo lock anyway...who's going to take the axe out of the case to steal it??? Just pickup up the case w/guitar and whammy......you've got a stolen guitar w/case. I don't get it
