Does anyone know how much you should turn your claw spring adjustment screws or how to know when you should stop. Im considering switching to ten gauge strings with my new jem, but i don't know when to stop or when i should add a new spring. Should i even switch to tens in the first place, give me your opinions please.

you can pretty much screw the claw spring in until you run out of space and/or you start stripping the screws Switching to 10s should not be a problem... glen

Your talking about them stripping against the screw plate right? And what guage strings do you use?

yes... if you use poor tools/technique you can strip the screw, especially when you almost run out of threads 'cause the body is not drilled that deep. i use 009s on double lockers... 010s or 011s on fixed bridge myself...glen
