Just got a used '99 UV777BK - ...and I think I got a great d

I went into Sam's Ass today on a whim that they might have something interesting there - I hadn't been in there in a long time. *They had a new UV777BK for $1499.00, which I was impressed with, since GC is asking $1699 for them.

Right under it was a used one that looked as good as the new one, but was used w/original ibanez case/dimarzio straplock strap/bar/tools for $1299.00

I played it for a while and really like it, even though I've never spent much time on 7-string. *The only damage I could find was a samll nick underneath the horn - other than that, the guitar and the case look like they were never even played.

I have guitar gigs the next three nights - I hope I like this one! *Did I get a good deal? *I'm very suspicious of any good deals at Sam Ash

Oh yeah - 6 months - no interest on the Sam Ash card

If you used the 'no interest sam ass card' it's 'ok', but I've seen mint ones selling around a grand lately.

From a local dealer/superstore, i'd consider this a good deal. No surprises. The previous owner obviously never used it much and you're benefiting. Enjoy ...glen

Good point, from a 'superstore' it is a good deal. Getting to see and play it first is always nice too.

The "have the guitar in my hands before I buy it" factor is definitely worth a bit more, as is the 'no interest'. *i plan to pay it off over 6 months. *If I were to buy i t on my Visa card, I'd pay more than the $200 difference in interest charges anyway - plus returning it isn't a hassle - that's priceless to me (i'm very fickle, you know :-p)

I got one for $700 just a few weeks (why did I say months previously? *hmph) ago and the only thing going against it was the bridge area in the pickguard was routed just a little bigger (maybe an overall 1/4 bigger) than it should have been because an EMG was put in. *I put the original Blaze back in it and it really looks normal. *Otherwise the guitar is in excellent condition. *Came with a UV case too.
I'm pretty proud of my new aquisition. *It's a keeper.

OK I'm just jealous cause I bought mine brand new, but wait, actually it was an insurance replacement for my UV7BK that got ripped off so really, I only paid about $100 Canadian for it from the insurance deductible. *Sure I got my old UV ripped off and I'd rather have it back but now I'll bug you about getting the better deal!!!! hahahahahahahahaha!!!
