klick kluck edge problem 7vwh
Ok jem 7v is my first experience with edge tremolo. i didnt have any troubles to set it up. The issue is that sometimes when i do big pull of or divebombs it makes some kclicking noice....kind of like something is hitting wood ...it also feels like something is moving...i meant i can feel that it has some physical movement besides noise.
P. S studs are locked ....i tightened inserts clockwise ..right ?

Re: klick kluck edge problem 7vwh
I wonder if that might be the arm holder...
Could also be a string inserted off-center into one of the saddles (especially the non-wounds) - big bends can make the string slide across the saddle and 'ping' in the rounded channel.
But, definitely check for tightness of the arm holder - that's a 2-stage affair; the whole thing is locked from beneath by a 10mm nut, and the entire sub-assembly is threaded into the main bridge plate ahead of being locked by that nut.
Move the bar and watch/feel for movement in the holder.
(Do you keep your bar firm in its socket, or free-swinging?)
Cheers.

Sorry I didn't understand what you mean by this?
Keep it in socket ?? I might think wrong way but I thought that bar has only one position - free swinging ...I guess maybe I am missing something

Re: klick kluck edge problem 7vwh
When you're playing, does the actual black trem bar stay where you put it when you let go, or does it fall down to point toward the floor?
Hope that makes sense =]

To make the arm firm, get new bushings like this
And get alot of them. They get worn down pretty fast.

Pull of the rear term cavity cover, and look at the bottom of the arm holder. There is a small screw holding in a little arm retention spring. If this spring is not tight and in the correct place, it can cause the exact symptoms you describe.

Re: klick kluck edge problem 7vwh
It could be the arm holder is loose or has a wobble,it may need the nut on the back tightening too and the screw that is directly below the arm on the backside tightening.
The only other reason is the bridge is catching on something but it sounds more of a mechanical problem, especially with the constantly loose arm it should feel quite tight and not move easily when new bushings are used.
I believe rich has a specific guide on loose arm holders.
http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/setup/loose_holder.htm
check the nut and scre that attach it to the bridge if either of these are loose you will get movement and noises...
Good luck!

I went through that manual from ibby rulez. I am kind of located sound and it is coming from nut area. I tightened my nut pretty light to make sure I dodnt crack wood like many old rg's had.
