LNG Question

I was looking at 250174455459 on 3Bay, and noticed it was signed on the back plate "Steve Vai #515" with silver sharpie, where I though all of them were signed with black marker directly on the back of the guitar, at least that's all I've seen. Is this legit?

Re: LNG Question

I'm sure there was a comment from Rich recently about the ones that weren't for the US were signed there or somewhere as the guitars may not have been available to sign at the time! Unless i imagined that post

Well....i'm sure someone said it....but as i can't find it i'm starting to doubt my own (questionable) sanity

Re: LNG Question

Its on IbanezRules, or the Vai site. I distincly remember reading "Steve signed each one, some with little drawings" "when Steve couldn't be there he signed the trem covers of the rest"

Or something like that!

Re: LNG Question

It at least looks like the real deal aside from the selector switch. Seems like the original palm rest is there. I would imagine (with as rough as the paint is on that thing) that the original signature has long since dissapeared from the body. Steve could have maybe signed it at a later date with the number coming from the Serial number. Just my thoughts since he didn't bother to say so. I would probably buy it if I had 2,500.00$ laying around.

Re: LNG Question

I don't know if it is worth that much... It has NJFC's on both sides, chunks taken out of the paint, fretwear and neck plate wear... it's dirty, and only signed on the trem plate so Steve didn't actually touch the guitar. I've always wanted one but I bet they exist in better condition for the price. I don't really know the values on these so I guess I shouldn't talk. It looks like it would be a great player. They dont get wear like that unless they are fun to play.

Re: LNG Question

All offshore LNG's are signed on the trem cover. Only US LNG's were signed on the body itself, although JD said he couldn't remember if Steve had signed a batch at the factory also.

Re: LNG Question

I own an LNG and it has only been signed on the trem cover . At the time of the sale I was assured that most of the guitars delivered to europe were only signed there and not on the body due to supply times etc.
