Major volume discrepancy between neck and bridge pickup.

Hello all. I took my new (to me) 77FP to practice last night and noticed a severe difference in volume between the neck and bridge pickup. The neck is WAY louder. I thought maybe it was a height issue, so I raised the bridge and no difference. I even tried lowering it, because I've heard that sometimes when pickups are too close, the magnets can mess with the strings. What is the ideal height?

Could the bridge pickup be going dead? I've had vintage Fender pickups go dead before, but they were from 1964. Do these Jem pickups go dead, or lose power? My Jem is from 1989, so its not brand new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

lower the neck pup and raise the bridge pup.
you can hear the difference better on a clean setting

They were already set like that, but I'll move them some more to see what happens. The bridge probably cant come up too much more, but the neck can go down a fair amount. I'll give it a try tomorrow and update. Thanks

Are they the original pickups? Someone may have put a pickup with equal or higher output in the neck. That would make it louder because the neck pickup doesnt need as high output as the bridge since the strings will vibrate in a higher elipse closer to the 12th fret.

As far as I know, the pickups are original, but I'm not 100% sure. Here's a link to a pic.

No, what would I look for?

Everything seems to work as it should, 5 way switch, etc. The volumes just aren't balanced between the pickups.

I meant to try adjusting the heights today, but ran out of time. I'm off tomorrow so I'll give it a try.
