If you go for a while to lespaulforum you'll see how many mods make improve your Les Paul. I made most part of them and the tone I get now it's certainly better. New pots, caps, pups, 50s wiring......

What about the Jems? Do you usually change some parts?

Most leave them as they are straight out of the factory as far as I know.

Well, people do mod them. Like, some people don't like the inlays, or the finish, or the pickups, or they want to re-configure the wiring, or add a sustainer or something. But there's no mods that everybody does. If people mod it, it's to make it fit their tastes better.
