My first JEM!

yesterday (friday), I bought my first JEM.
A 777VDY, in very good condition I must say.
I really like it, especially the unfinished neck. I never thought it would be such a difference, compared to my RG-570.
The tremolo (edge), says in tune great. The only downside is that it could use a refret maybe, but that's quite normal I guess.
I'll see if I can take some pictures of it and post later!

I read on Vai's website that he used the guitar Whitesnake's Skyscraper tour. Does anyone know where to find pictures, because it would be cool to see Steve Vai play it.

Skyscraper was a DLR tour, the Whitesnake tour was in support of the album "Slip of the Tongue"

The Whitesnake tour he used the UV77MCs but I don't know for sure what he used in teh later DLR days.

From what I recall, Steve used his FP's a lot.

I know C.C. from Poison used the DY's

Congrats on the VDY, Johan!
Now beware of the GAS. You can easily catch it around here.

Congrats on the 777VDY. Desert Sun Yellow was a great finish. Although Ibanez used that finish quite a bit, I do miss that color. I hope you enjoy it, and I very much agree, beware of GAS, JEMs are highly addictive!

BTW: The Jems had just come out during the DLR tour and the videos from the "Skyscraper" album have some great Jem shots. The Whitesnake tour for the "Slip of The Tongue" album was called the "Liquor and Poker Tour" from what I read on someone's shirt at the show I went to. At that time, the UV's just came out and Vai used a variety of UV's during the show (it seemed like a different one for each song). It was very much a Universe exibit.

Enjoy it!

Okay....I'm a little slow on the uptake....What does GAS stand for? I am most certainly infected with it since the purchase of my 7DBK. I want a Universe in the worst way. I'd just like to know the "scientific" name of my disease.
