My first jem project...Im scared lol

Ok so I love the Root Beer jem but I cant seem to find one for a price I can afford; so Ive decided to make one. Picked up a body from Legacy and a neck from an RG 120. I'll be getting a custom neck made as soon as I can decide on inlays. The body has the onld style grip, aanj, and the Lian claw bridge (is it called lion claw) I will be putting on a coat of a light stain and the clearing it. Black pickguard and colored pick ups (maybe green) black hardware as well. heres the progress so far...

the black body is my 120 and the red is a jem body i got from the bay but the neck joint is a little weird, the holes are in different spots. I like that its front routed tho

I dont know, I got it on thE Bay. Its got a weird size pocket for the neck tho. I have no idea what to do with it.

Is it the stain that gives it the look? I always thought someone went at it lightly with some sort of torch. If I were to put a custom neck on it, I like the kind that has the screws for the markers.
