my jem project is close to finished

all i lack is getting the headstock painted .

for anyone considering a custom project , it is ok if you plan it right , however if you dont it can be a huge pain in the ass and end up costing a lot more then you want it to .

i ended up getting both the neck and body from chris woods

the big red button is wired to turn on/off the neck led lights .

i'd replace the killswitch, otherwise nice. I have done one myself and it was more than buying a jem

It's not a killswitch. It's for turning the neck LEDs on and off. Please refer to the original post.

as for the big red button. it was really the only thing radio shack had that would work the way i wanted to but to be honest it wouldn't have been my first pick to have .

use a push pull pot, jordan. stewmac has them in 25k for around $10-15. it's more useful, too.
